Find the Right Level
for Your Situation
From a single focused workshop to a full multi-session programme, Lumora offers three ways to build your understanding of everyday money management while studying overseas.
← Back to HomeOur Teaching Approach
Every Lumora programme follows the same core principle: we give students information, frameworks, and tools — then let them make their own decisions. No prescriptions, no pressure, no claims about outcomes. Each programme is built to work wherever you are: preparing to go, recently arrived, or well into your studies.
Structured Content
Sessions and materials are organised logically — from understanding your overall budget to tracking daily spending — so concepts build on each other.
Practical Templates
Every programme includes tools you can use straight away — planners, trackers, and worksheets designed for real overseas-student finances.
Community & Support
Toolkit and programme participants can ask questions, share experiences, and get peer input — all in a moderated, supportive space.
Studying-Abroad Money Workshop
RM 490
A supportive, single-session workshop covering the core elements of managing everyday money while studying overseas. This is the clearest entry point for students who want a practical, structured introduction: how to budget across two currencies, how to plan for the big costs of each term, and how to track your spending in a simple, sustainable way.
The session is suitable whether you're weeks away from departure or just getting to grips with life abroad. No prior financial knowledge is assumed.
What's Covered
- Understanding your income and outgoings in two currencies
- Planning for term-start costs (accommodation deposits, enrolment fees, setup expenses)
- Simple weekly and monthly tracking methods
- Common cost categories for students in popular destinations
How It Works
Enrol and receive pre-session materials to review
Attend the live workshop session (remote access available)
Receive session summary and a basic planning template to keep
Abroad Toolkit & Community
RM 1,480
A practical resource bundle combined with access to an active peer community. The toolkit includes currency-aware planning templates, expense trackers, and term-cost worksheets — all built to reflect how student finances actually work overseas. The community gives you a place to ask day-to-day questions and learn from other students in similar situations.
Toolkit access is ongoing. Once you join, the resources and community remain available throughout your studies — a consistent reference point as your situation changes from term to term.
Included in the Toolkit
- Currency-aware monthly budget planner (editable templates)
- Term-cost breakdown worksheet
- Remittance and transfer tracker
- Expense category reference guide by destination
- Moderated community access with organised topic threads

Overseas Study Programme
RM 4,100
A structured, multi-session general education programme covering everyday money management for students abroad. Delivered in group sessions with accompanying written materials, this programme is the most thorough offering — suitable for students who want to cover the topic systematically rather than in a single session.
Participants who complete the full programme receive a certificate of attendance from Lumora. All sessions include open Q&A time, and materials are provided for reference after each session.
What the Programme Covers
- Full-year academic budget planning
- Multi-currency management in depth
- Understanding remittances and overseas banking basics
- Managing irregular income (scholarships, allowances)
- Planning for holiday travel and return visits
- Certificate of attendance upon completion
