2. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website or enrolling in any programme, you agree to these terms. This agreement is formed at the point you:
- Submit an enquiry or registration form on our website;
- Complete payment for any programme or service;
- Access any content, toolkit, or community space provided by Lumora.
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement under Malaysian law. If you are enrolling on behalf of another person (such as a dependent), you represent that you have authority to do so.
3. Service Description
Lumora provides general financial education programmes designed for students planning to study or currently studying abroad. Our current offerings include:
Studying-Abroad Money Workshop โ RM 490
A focused workshop covering everyday money management while studying overseas: budgeting across currencies, planning for term costs, and tracking spending simply.
Abroad Toolkit & Community โ RM 1,480
Currency-aware planning resources and access to a peer community for students with everyday questions about managing money far from home.
Overseas Study Programme โ RM 4,100
A multi-session general education programme on everyday money management abroad, with group sessions, printed and digital materials, and a certificate of attendance.
All services are subject to availability. We reserve the right to modify programme content, scheduling, or format at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled participants of material changes.
4. User Accounts
Where account registration is offered, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information at registration;
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- All activity that occurs under your account;
- Notifying us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, display abusive behaviour, or where activity raises security concerns.
5. User Responsibilities
When using Lumora's services you agree to:
- Participate respectfully in workshops, community spaces, and group sessions;
- Use programme materials solely for your own personal learning;
- Not share, distribute, or reproduce materials without written permission;
- Not misrepresent our content as professional financial advice;
- Comply with all applicable Malaysian laws and the laws of your country of study.
Prohibited activities include:
- Attempting to copy, scrape, or redistribute programme content commercially;
- Submitting false or misleading information during enrolment;
- Disrupting or interfering with other participants' learning experience;
- Using our platform to promote or distribute unrelated third-party products or services.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, materials, worksheets, frameworks, and programme structure created by Lumora remain the intellectual property of Lumora. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use programme materials for your personal educational purposes only.
You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our materials without prior written consent. Any content you contribute to community spaces (such as questions or discussion posts) remains yours, but you grant Lumora a non-exclusive licence to use it within the community environment.
7. Payment Terms
All prices are listed in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are subject to change. Payment is required to confirm enrolment. We accept payment through the methods listed on our enrolment confirmation process.
Refund policy:
- Cancellations made 7 or more days before the programme start date are eligible for a full refund less any processing fees.
- Cancellations made 3โ6 days before the start date are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 3 days before the start date are non-refundable.
- If Lumora cancels or reschedules a session, participants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to a future date.

8. Enrolment & Attendance
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. For programmes that include a certificate of attendance, the following applies:
- Attendance at the required number of sessions is necessary to qualify for a certificate;
- Certificates confirm participation in an educational programme and do not constitute a professional qualification;
- Lumora reserves the right to withhold a certificate where a participant's conduct has breached these terms;
- Materials provided are for educational purposes only and their application remains the sole responsibility of the participant.
9. Disclaimers
General educational content only
Lumora provides general educational content and peer community resources. Nothing on our website, in our workshops, or in any programme materials constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or any regulated financial service. We do not hold any licence to provide financial advice under Malaysian law or otherwise.
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that programmes will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular educational outcome will result from participation. Any decisions you make regarding your personal finances remain entirely your own responsibility.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, Lumora's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific programme giving rise to the claim.
We shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses;
- Loss of savings, financial decisions made based on educational content, or opportunity costs;
- Any disruption to services caused by force majeure events (including natural events, government actions, or telecommunications failures).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumora, its team members, and associates from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your breach of these terms; your misuse of our services or materials; or any misrepresentation you make about the nature of our educational content to third parties.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate participation at any time, subject to the refund policy in Section 7. Lumora may immediately remove access to services if a user:
- Materially breaches these terms and fails to remedy the breach within 7 days of notice;
- Engages in abusive, disruptive, or fraudulent behaviour;
- Attempts to reproduce or resell programme content without authorisation.
Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
13. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to first reach out informally to [email protected] so we can work toward a resolution together.
If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to:
- The relevant consumer tribunal under the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999, where applicable; or
- The courts of Malaysia, with Kuantan, Pahang as the agreed jurisdiction.
14. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lumora.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under this agreement without our written consent. We may assign ours as part of a business reorganisation.
- Notices: Notices to us should be sent to [email protected] or to our postal address above.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable law. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled participants by email. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
